The first step is to take a train from Oslo to Voss. The train ride takes about 3 hours, and you can take either the regional train or the express train, depending on your preference. Tickets are available from the Norwegian State Railways website.
Once in Voss, you have a few options for getting to Trolltunga. The easiest way is to take a bus from Voss to Tyssedal, which is the nearest town to Trolltunga. The bus ride takes about 1 hour and 40 minutes, and tickets can be purchased at the Voss train station or online.
Once you arrive in Tyssedal, you can either take a taxi or rent a car to get to the Trolltunga trailhead. The trailhead is located about 30 minutes away, and the cost of a taxi will be around 200 NOK (approximately $22 USD). If you rent a car, you’ll need to get a one-way rental from Voss to Tyssedal.
Once you arrive at the trailhead, you’ll need to hike 3-4 hours to reach Trolltunga. The hike is quite strenuous, so be sure to bring plenty of water and snacks. The trail is well marked, so you shouldn’t have any trouble finding your way. Make sure to bring a map so you don’t get lost.
When you reach Trolltunga, you can enjoy the beautiful views and take some amazing photos. Once you’re done exploring, you’ll need to make your way back to the trailhead. You can either take the same route back or take a taxi from the mountain to Tyssedal.
Once you’re back in Tyssedal, you can either take a bus or a train back to Oslo. The bus takes about 3 hours, and the train takes about 4 hours. Both options are available at the Tyssedal train station, and tickets can be purchased online or at the station.
That’s how you can get from Oslo to Trolltunga. It’s a bit of a journey, but it’s well worth it to see one of the most iconic sights in Norway. Be sure to plan ahead and bring the right gear so you can have a safe and enjoyable trip.
